About Us
Sundancer Norfolk History
I first fell in love with this lovely short-legged terrier after meeting and
becoming friends with Barbara (Bobbie) Fournier, one of the original breeders of
the drop-eared Norwich and later Norfolk. After meeting her family of Norfolk
and being won over, I knew I just had to have one. At the time I had been
showing and breeding Soft-Coated Wheaten Terriers.
Bobbie was going back East and went looking for a show female for me. I was
lucky enough to get one from Gaynor Green (Greenfield’s) and also lucky that
Peter Green picked her out. My first Norfolk was Ch. Greenfield’s Kibbles ‘N’
Bits (Tassel), who would be the #1 Norfolk Bitch for 1986 and 1987. In 1992 I
was again lucky to get another lovely female from Gaynor , Ch. Greenfield’s Lady
in Red (Rosie), who is the foundation behind our present-day Norfolk and our
group-placing Ch. Sundancer’s Hidden Treasure (Stash).
In 2002 I became acquainted with Stevie Bernhard, who fell in love with the
breed after showing Ch. Sundancer Rodeo Queen. We decided to join in the showing
and breeding of the Norfolk Terriers, and in the process I became acquainted
with another great breed, the Giant Schnauzer. So Sundancer went from just
Norfolk Terriers to include Giant Schnauzers.
We obtained from Beth Sweigart in 2003 a lovely male, Ch. Yarrow Venerie Very
Grand, to incorporate into our breeding program, and we are looking forward to
future puppies from him.
In the meantime, you might catch Stevie with Stash at a show and then Stash and
Nick as our brace.
Sundancer Norfolk Terriers & Giant Schnauzers breed and exhibit only top quality show dogs . We do occasionally have pet puppies & adults available to the right companion homes. We are located in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Our emphasis is equally on superior health, temperament and conformation.
